MedImmune

Edward T. Mathers has been named executive vice president, corporate development and venture, MedImmune. In this role, he is responsible for the company’s licensing and business development activities and is a key leader of the company’s MedImmune Ventures, Inc. team evaluating investment opportunities.

Prior to joining the company, Mr. Mathers was vice president of marketing and corporate licensing and acquisitions at Inhale Therapeutic Systems. Previously, he had a successful 15-year career at Glaxo Wellcome, Inc., holding a number of increasingly responsible positions in sales and marketing. Mr. Mathers began his career as a researcher at Ortho Pharmaceuticals Corp., a division of Johnson & Johnson.
